SafeHold Canada Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 2026 • Version 1.0 (Ontario)

1. Nature of the Service

SafeHold Canada provides a technology platform facilitating pre-authorization payment holding and neutral evidence archiving for peer-to-peer commerce. SafeHold is not a chartered bank. Pre-authorization holds are executed through licensed payment processors (Stripe Payments Canada) without immediate settlement.

2. Dual-Party Mutual Release

Funds held in connection with a transaction will only be captured and released to the seller upon mutual confirmation from both the buyer and seller, or pursuant to an arbitration decision rendered by an authorized SafeHold reviewer following a formally opened dispute.

3. Mandatory Identity Verification

All participating users must complete our profile verification gate, certifying legal name, Canadian province of residence, and possessing an active, verified SMS-capable Canadian phone number.

4. Evidence Submission & Photographic Records

Parties agree that listing photographs and up to six real-time handoff verification photographs uploaded at the time of delivery constitute primary admissible evidence in the determination of disputes.

5. Governing Law

These Terms and any disputes arising hereunder shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
